"At Briggs, we counsel clients to make sure they know what they want to get out of a transaction. Do they want the security of a bigger ship, or do they want control and flexibility? These are the same issues we faced in selling our own companies."
As one of the founders of Briggs Capital, Lysle was instrumental in shaping its decidedly strategic approach to mergers, acquisitions and investment placement. With the belief that every client's situation is unique, Lysle works to build his clients' equity value by redefining or refining a brand's value proposition, positioning, and market opportunity to enhance transaction multiples and/or reduce the cost of capital.
Lysle has spent his career helping companies build their equity and their bottom lines in sectors as diverse as technology, consumer products, and financial services. Lysle built his own company, Wickersham Hunt Schwantner (an independent operating division of Arnold Worldwide) into the fourth largest integrated advertising agency in New England, working for clients like Bose, IBM, Volkswagen, Fidelity, Magnavox and MediaOne (acquired by AT&T). WHS became a nationally recognized agency, winning awards from the American Marketing Association's Effies, the International ECHO Awards, the New York Festivals and The One Show, to name a few. As a condition for acquisition, WHS was consolidated into Arnold Worldwide and acquired by Havas (NSDQ:HADV). The transaction was completed in April of 2000.
A serial entrepreneur, Lysle has run dot-coms, launched technology start-ups and orchestrated successful turnarounds. Today, in between consulting assignments for Briggs, Lysle runs The Blend Agency in New York City where his team provides integrated advertising across the traditional and digital channels. He is always in demand for business and management consulting and for due diligence services and market analysis for the VC, PE and start-up communities.
